The Wahl-O-Mat is a site on the Internet. The site comes from scientists. You have read carefully the election programs of the parties. Then they summarized the main statements from each party. They did that for different topics: for example for environmental politics, for economic politics and for foreign politics. The election programs of the parties are very long and complex.

Anyone who uses the Wahl-O-Mat sees statements about politics. He or she chooses the statement that he or she finds best. It is not stated from which party the statement comes. There are 38 statements in total. Then Wahl-O-Mat calculates with which party your own opinion fits best. In the Bundestag election on September 26, you can vote who you want.

The organizations Caritas and AWO do a lot for people with disabilities. They demand: The Wahl-O-Mat should also be available in easy language. Because voting is a right that all citizens have. Therefore all people must be able to inform themselves about the parties and their election programs.

Until the Bundestag election there is an election battle. The parties advertise their program. Armin Laschet from the CDU, Olaf Scholz from the SPD and Annalena Baerbock from the Greens want to become chancellor. You were now in a televised discussion. The team of moderators asked her about various topics.

They had similar opinions on some issues. For example, everyone said that they don't want all schools and shops to have to close again because of Corona. They argued on other issues. Annalena Baerbock has accused the other two politicians and their parties, for example: You are doing far too little for climate protection. Armin Laschet accused Baerbock and the Greens: You want too many rules. Olaf Scholz said: The rich should pay more taxes in Germany.
