On February 24 at approximately 7:30 p.m. KST, BTS’s music video for their smash hit “Dynamite” surpassed 1.4 billion views in record time. The song was originally released on August 21, 2020 at 1 p.m. KST, meaning that it took just over one year, six months, and three days to reach the milestone.

“Dynamite” is now the fastest K-pop group music video ever to hit 1.4 billion views, breaking the previous record of two years, five months, and seven days set by BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU.”

BTS is also now the only Korean artist to surpass 1.4 billion views with three different music videos: the group recently hit the 1.4 billion mark with both “Boy With Luv” and “DNA.”

On February 24 at approximately 8:20 PM KST, "Dynamite" has officially racked up over 1.4 Billion views on YouTube, making their third music video ever to reach the milestone, following "DNA" and "Boy With Luv." BTS also extend their record as the only Korean male act to have three MVs with over 1.4 billion views on YouTube.

"Dynamite" is the group's first full English-language single, which was released on August 21, 2020, reaching the milestone one year and six months after its release.

For the second year in a row, BTS have been crowned the IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year!

Last year, BTS made history as the first Asian act to win the IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year Award. The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) is a non-profit organization that represents the recording music industry worldwide. Its annual Global Recording Artist of the Year recognizes an act’s worldwide popularity across digital and physical music formats (from streaming to vinyl) and covers their entire collection of work.

On February 24, IFPI announced on their official Twitter account that BTS had taken the No. 1 spot on their 2021 IFPI Global Artist Chart. The rest of the top 10, in order, are Taylor Swift, Adele, Drake, Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber, SEVENTEEN, and Olivia Rodrigo.

With its first-week sales, 'The Second Step: Chapter One' has broken the boy group's personal record, becoming their highest-selling first-week sales on Hanteo by surpassing 'The First Step: Treasure Effect,' which sold over 200,000 copies.

In addition, 'The Second Step: Chapter One' now holds the record as the biggest-selling 2022 album on the first week of release on Hanteo.

Super rookie group TREASURE breaks personal record in album sales with ‘THE SECOND STEP: CHAPTER ONE’

According to Hanteo Chart on February 21st, TREASURE's first mini-album 'THE SECOND STEP: CHAPTER ONE' topped the album category this week. There is one more day left until the final counting, but the Initial Chodong sales of this album (based on Hanteo Chart) also surpassed the current cumulative 240,000 copies.

Such achievements of TREASURE were expected. Previously, YG announced that TREASURE's three physical albums (photobook, digipak, kit version) sold over 700,000 copies in total. TREASURE's first mini-album 'THE SECOND STEP: CHAPTER ONE' topped the world-wide album chart by ranking first in 30 iTunes regions on the first day of its release on February 15th.

The title song 'JIKJIN' is gaining popularity by sweeping the No. 1 rankings on major local music sites such as Japan's Line Music Top 100, Rakuten Music, Apple Music, iTunes, AWA, and mu-mo. According to YG Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as YG) on the 21st, the music video for TREASURE's comeback title song 'JIKJIN' surpassed 30 million views on YouTube at 12:36 pm on the same day.

This is the fastest speed among all the music videos TREASURE has released so far, just 5 days and 18 hours after it was released. Compared to Treasure's 'BOY', which recently achieved 100 million views, the number of views over the same time period is three times more. The stage video of 'JIKJIN' released on February 20th also exceeded 2 million views, surpassing nearly half of the cumulative number of views of the music broadcast stage videos of the existing title songs in a day and a half after it was released.

NMIXX 'AD MARE': Release date, tracks, debut showcase, all about JYP rookies 1st album

The debut of JYP Entertainment’s NMIXX is one of the highly anticipated K-pop debuts and all credit goes to the label for hyping the group up so much, ahead of their official reveal. The label had released their limited edition ‘Blind Package’ without even revealing the members of NMIXX (previously JYPn) — a successful strategy.

JYP Entertainment, one of the ‘Big 3’ labels of K-pop, seemed to have nailed the rookie group launch, with NMIXX selling approximately 60,000 copies of ‘Blind Package’ in July of 2021, way ahead of the official debut. Now, as the group gears towards its debut, the group is facing multiple challenges like member Bae testing positive for Covid-19 that has, in turn, postponed their debut showcase as well as the alleged leaking of their debut title track, ‘O.O’. Despite these challenges, NMIXX is still heading towards its big debut with their first single album dropping on the same day.

The clip begins with the seven members of NMIXX performing a brief section of the new song’s choreography in the middle of a foggy, barren dry sea floor, as a damaged, abandoned ship looms over them ominously.

It then cuts to individual shots of the various members in what looks like a dystopian city, before Kyujin bursts through a door and seeming into a different dimension. ‘O.O’ is set to be released on February 22, and will be the title track of the group’s first single album ‘Ad Mare’.

‘Ad Mare’ will also include the B-side track ‘Tank’, along with instrumental versions of both songs. Notably, ‘O.O’ was composed and arranged by a roster of hitmakers from South Korean music production studio THE HUB, best known for working with MAMAMOO’s Wheein, ENHYPEN, Ha Sung-woon and more.

NMIXX, previously referred to as JYPn, was first announced last July when JYP Entertainment opened a pre-order for a “blind package” for the forthcoming group group. The package will feature NMIXX’s upcoming debut single on a limited-edition CD, a photo book, poster, premium membership card and more.

NMIXX will be the first K-pop girl group launched by JYP Entertainment since ITZY’s debut in 2019. The agency is also home to other popular idol groups such as TWICE, Stray Kids, as well as the bands Day6 and Xdinary Heroes, the latter of which had made their debut last December.
