Sin and the devil are alive and thriving; and today we will cover 5 ways Satan tries to win your soul.

1 Peter 5:8; “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”

Here is the thing about Satan and sin.

He is crafty.

Additionally, his ways are subtle.

Creeping into your life and before you know it.

HE HAS GOT YOU!

The Bible is specific about sin.

Mark 7:21-23; “For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.

Moreover, about the consequences for those who fall to Satan and his world of sin.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10; “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”

The result is Satan wins your soul!

Furthermore, it will be much worse for any who lead others into sin.

Luke 17:1-2; Jesus said to his disciples: “Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come. It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.”

Your hope can only be found in The One.

Sin brings about hatred and division.

Moreover, we are commanded by God to flee from it.

Now we will count down 5 ways Satan tries to win your soul.

Way #5 Satan Tries To Win Your Soul:

Landing in at #5 on the ways Satan tries to win your soul.

Disappointment.

The most subtle of sins.

We all face disappointment in one or more areas of our lives.

Not a good feeling.

If you allow disappointment to grow, it will turn into discouragement, which will affect how you think, the words you speak, the actions you take and how you decide to live life.

Before you know it, self-pity and bitterness have taken over.

As a result, you become separated from GOD.

Satan wins.

Disappointment will strike you.

When it does, remember this.

1 John 5:4: “For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith”.

Way #4 Unforgiveness:

Whether on the giving or receiving end; in all likelihood, you have walked down both sides of the street known as Unforgiveness.

Whichever end, it’s never a pleasant experience for those involved.

This life we have been granted by God is so precious; which is why He instructs us on the subject of forgiveness, multiple times throughout His Word.

Matthew 18:21-22; Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?”

Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.”

Mark 11:25; “And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

Matthew 6:14-15: “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

Way #3 Satan Tries To Win Your Soul:

The next piece of Satan’s Sin Puzzle is Compromise.

Compromising your beliefs will lead you down a road of ruin.

Know this, it’s not if you will be tempted, it’s when!

JESUS was tempted by Satan during his 40 days in the wilderness.

Matthew 4:1-10: “Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.

The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.

“If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down.”

For it is written: “He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.”

Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.”

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.

All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.”

Compromise is seen everywhere today.

In government.

“I’ll vote your way if you vote my way.”

Social circles.

“One drink, is not going to hurt you.”

In relationships.

satan

“I know you want to wait until we’re married, but I really love you.”

Not good.

You see it, run from it.

Don’t allow Compromise to steal the Inheritance GOD has waiting for you!

There is only one perfect, undefeated record in the universe and GOD owns it.

Take heart because fighting every one of your battles is the Creator of all things!

Way #2 Jealousy:

Whether it be in relationships, business or in life, Jealousy drives people to slander, threaten, and even kill!

The Bible; 1 Samuel 18:6-7, tells the story of King Saul’s jealousy toward faithful servant David after David had slayed Goliath, the mighty Philistine giant.

As they were coming home, when David returned from striking down the Philistine, the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul, with tambourines, with songs of joy, and with musical instruments.

And the women sang to one another as they celebrated,

“Saul has struck down his thousands, and David his ten thousands.”

Jealousy took hold of Saul and in the end it led to his demise.

Expressing jealousy toward another means that we are not satisfied with what GOD has given us.

The cure to jealousy can be found here.

1 Corinthians 10:13;

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”

Be confident in who GOD made you to be, and resist comparing yourself to others.

Way #1 Satan Tries To Win Your Soul:

It’s like a tornado!

Controlling, dominating and manipulating anyone in its path.

Pride causes you to be preoccupied with yourself, to stand in front of the mirror.

satan

“I Make This Look Good”

As a result, admiring yourself and all that YOU, YOURSELF, have accomplished.

Pride took hold of Lucifer and the fallen angels when they refused to serve THE LORD.

The cause of Adam and Eve’s sin in the garden was pride.

Moreover, they ate from the tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil after GOD had instructed them not to.

Satan convinced them that they knew better than GOD.

The rest is history.

Proverbs 16:18; Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.”

There is only one known cure for pride and that is Humility.

Jesus Christ speaks to this in the Parable of the Wedding Feast in Luke 14:7-11;

When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited.

If so, the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, ‘Give this person your seat.’ Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place.

‘But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, ‘Friend, move up to a better place.’

Then you will be honored in the presence of all the other guests. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

You are in the spiritual battle of your life.

As a result, at risk is your very own soul!

Do not allow pride to ruin your relationship with God.

Psalm 102:18; “Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the Lord.”
